Fishing Castle Rock Lake and Petenwell Lake in Central Wisconsin

My name is Jerry Tipping. I am a professional multi-species guide on Castle Rock Lake & Petenwell Lake and the Wisconsin River. I am the only full-time guide exclusive to Castle Rock Lake & Petenwell Lake. I have been fishing both lakes for over 30 years and guiding clients for more than 20 years.

I competed on the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail and the Masters Walleye Circuit for many years, with top 10 finishes in both, along with Masters Walleye Circuit Team of the Year honors. Three time World Walleye Championship qualifier.

I also write a monthly column in Mid West Outdoors Magazine pertaining to Castle Rock Lake & Petenwell Lake, and I have been invited to present seminars at various fishing clubs, sport shows, and retail outlets.

My fishing season On Castle Rock Lake & Petenwell Lake, and the adjoining river starts in March and runs thru ice-up. One reason I have enjoyed fishing these bodies of water over many years is the diversity of the species. For the most part, walleye are the targeted species, but when you set the hook in these two lakes you can be in for surprise when you get it to the net.

Some species you may encounter on your outing can include, but are not limited to: Walleye-Perch- Crappie-White Bass-Musky-Pike-Large Mouth Bass-Small Mouth Bass, and Catfish.

With a surface area of nearly 40,000 combined acres, it can be an overwhelming task to locate fish. For this reason, I would enjoy the opportunity to teach you where to look, what to use, and how to present it so you can maximize your “on the water time” in the future.
